Abstract

Cadmium and lead were estimated in 452 compounded feeds for dairy cattle, sows, piglets, growing pigs, layers and broiler chickens. The average Cd content was 0.126 to 0.174 mg/kg. In 88% of samples Cd content was <0.2 mg/kg. In only 2 samples Cd was >0.5 mg/kg. The average Pb content was 0.82 to 1.70 mg/kg. The maximum permissible concentration of 5.0 mg/kg was exceeded in only 2 samples. (Abstract retrieved from CAB Abstracts by CABI’s permission)
