Abstract

A root temperature of 5 deg C inhibited leaf growth of maize cv. Pioneer 395 by causing a greater retardation in cell elongation than in cell division. When this stress condition was lifted by increasing root temperature to 20 deg , temporarily accelerated leaf growth occurred. (Abstract retrieved from CAB Abstracts by CABI’s permission)
