Abstract

Citrus is grown mainly on the rich heavy clay coastal soils. A top layer of peat about 30 cm in depth is necessary to give good physical properties and adequate root growth. Initially, responses to N fertilizing occurred but soon disappeared after growth of a Pueraria cover crop. There were indications of a response to rock P. K increased the number and size of fruits. On sandy soils, deficiency symptoms, especially of Zn, occurred. (Abstract retrieved from CAB Abstracts by CABI’s permission)
