Abstract

A number of the projects usually accorded a prominent place in the programmes drawn up by the various agricultural extension services for the developing countries are discussed. There is an attempt to discover why some projects are accepted and carried out, while others are deliberately rejected although some of them are given much publicity. It would appear that the rejection of proposed improvements of local agricultural methods depends not only on technical and economic factors, but that motives of a social nature may also play a highly significant role.
