Abstract

Flowers produced by bunch-type groundnut plants of the variety Schwarz 21, grown in pots, were counted and then removed to prevent fruitsetting. The plants continued to flower throughout their life-span, and the number of flowers produced per plant often exceeded 1500, compared with 60-80 in plants which were allowed to set fruit. The life of these plants could be prolonged to more than 12 months by preventing fruit-setting.-R.B. (Abstract retrieved from CAB Abstracts by CABI’s permission)
