Fullerene Patent Database

1996 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded for the discovery of fullerenes!

Welcome to the Fullerene Patent Database, a comprehensive Internet archive of patents related to buckyballs, nanotubes, and other fullerenes. This database is brought to you by the laboratory of Prof. M. S. Dresselhaus, at M.I.T.

Currently, only U.S. Patents are available here. The patents are listed in chronological order. Clicking on a patent number will bring up the abstract of that patent (courtesy the CNIDR/USPTO U.S. Patent Bibliographic Database). Note that you will need a table-capable browser (such as Netscape Navigator) in order to properly display the abstracts. For some patents, the full text is available, accessible by clicking on the patent's title.

Future plans: Within the next few months, this database will be made searchable; a table of patents classified by subject area (synthesis/production, chemicals, superconductivity, biological/medical applications, etc.) will be made available; and missing abstracts and full text for the rest of the patents will be added. We are planning to add a smaller database of foreign fullerene-related patents shortly.

We welcome your feedback at pevzner@mgm.mit.edu.
While you are here at MGM, why not visit The Nobel Prize Internet Archive or find out about ``Science of Fullerenes and Carbon Nanotubes''?
