Background story of the RAVON-net The RAVON-net is a necessary tool for research on amphibians and fish. This article tells the story of the origins of the RAVON-net. Thanks to the Engbers family from Venlo, who delivers craftwork RAVON-nets of high quality since 2004, RAVON was able to deliver more than 2,400 nets to volunteers and professionals in support of their fieldwork. In addition to the RAVON-net the Engbers family also made two fishing nets of 25 meters in length. Since 2017 the RAVON-net also found its way to many researchers and volunteers abroad, both near and far from the Netherlands.
